General Rules about Posting

This is the companion forum to our Bloodlines website, a fansite for the TV series Blood Ties.

This board believes in the policy that you never know who is lurking or posting on the message board. We would like everyone to feel comfortable on the message board.

Respect your fellow board mates. This board was created to be a safe place to share our enthusiasm about the Lifetime series Blood Ties, promote the show and to develop friendships. People posting on the board are from all walks of life. Therefore, do not post topics and remarks that could be construed as being personally offensive. This includes negative remarks about gender, nationality, race, faith beliefs and political views. If your remarks are deemed offensive to others by the Site Admins, they will be removed. When in doubt, ask a Site Admin. We will warn you once and then you will be banned!

Remember that old saying, If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all? Well use that here. It is one thing if you did not like something on the show or an episode but when it comes to something other posters have posted like artwork, videos, FF or something of that nature, be polite. If you don't like it say nothing, it's as easy as that. Uncalled for rudeness will not be tolerated!

CONTENT THAT SHOULD NOT BE POSTED

This is a PG-13 rated message board. No NC-17 topics or comments. Please keep your posts reasonably clean or your posts will be edited or removed.

No fan fiction or stories of any kind. Unfortunately, we cannot permit it because of the amount of space it requires on the board but please feel free to post a link to your work. Also, please do not post entire song lyrics as this can get us into trouble with copyright issues.

No profanity or swearing of any sort is permitted. Again, respect everyone on the board.

No spamming and no advertisements to buy items. However, alerting the message board with links to new games, videos, fanfic, etc is encouraged but if they do not relate to the show or the books then please be sure to post them in the Off Topic forum.

No Double Threads: Please don't post the same message in 2 different sections. Please don't make an announcement in one thread to go to another thread to view an original thread. Please place the topic in the
appropriate forum.

Please do not make any posts about downloading the episodes illegally. Places like iTunes and on the Lifetime site that offer downloads is fine but no talk or links to Torrent sites or places like Bear Share please. This includes YouTube!

SIGNATURE BANNERS & AVATARS - PLEASE READ!!!!

We are all for custom avatars, signatures and banners but to keep the scrolling from getting out of control there is a size limit of 125 pixels in height and 600 pixels in width for signature banners. You can also only have one image in your signature. This does not include your avatar that goes under your username to the left. The avatars can be no larger than 100 X 100. If your banner or avatar is larger than the maximum limit then please trim them down. When the threads start getting busy it can be a real pain to have scroll past endless images and large banners. Please do not hotlink to an avatar or signature banner you found on another site.

We will NO longer PM you if your banner is too big, we will just delete it from your profile so please follow our size guidelines! Thank you.

IMAGES

Posting an image within the thread is fine but please try to keep the size down. If it is a large image then please just post a link to it and store it on your own server or one of the free ones like Photobucket.
If you do post an image on the board then these rules MUST be followed:
1) NO HOTLINKING! There is nothing more annoying to the owner of another website than having images from their site remotely linked to. This is bandwidth theft people and not cool!

2) If the image is one you found on another personal website then please have their permission to post it. If at all possible please state where you got the image. This also includes fanart. If you see a wallpaper or other artwork created by a fan then please ask their permission before posting their work here. If needs be just post a link to the image.

3) Nothing obscene. If you happen to find nude pictures of one of the actors or actresses then it will not be posted here. We wish to treat the cast and crew of Blood Ties with the utmost repect. If you are unsure of a picture you want to post then please just PM one of the admins.


PERSONAL CONDUCT

Respect the Actors' Performances. Discussions about performances are encouraged. If you disagree with any element of the television show, please keep it respectful. Example: It's alright to confirm that the bad character of the episode was evil. It's not acceptable to flame that guest star if you didn't like his/her performance. There is a difference between negative comments about fictional characters and human beings.

Respect the decision of the moderators. Moderators will not edit posts without just cause. If deemed appropriate by the moderator, we may attempt to contact the individual in violation privately to prevent future violations.

If you have a question or issue with a moderator or another poster, do not address it on the board. Instead (politely) e-mail one of us to discuss the situation.
