Questions about you

1) Many people dream of being an actor, what's one thing you wish you would have known before you entered this profession?
To thine own self be true. There’s a Tao saying I love…It goes something like this, “For every lock there is a key, but there’s a master key that unlocks them all.” And that key is ‘your truth’. It’s enough, and everything else is inauthentic.

2) If you were not an actor, what would be your career and why?
A professional sports beat writer…my ideal jobs would be to cover the Minnesota VIKINGS of the NFL & the Los Angeles LAKERS of the NBA.

3) What is a movie that you could watch again and again?
GROUNDHOG DAY… DR. STRANGELOVE, COUSINS, BEAUTIFUL GIRLS…and getting back to the SCI-FI genre; GALAXY QUEST still continues to tickle me. I’d also like to get a copy of the HUNCH BACK of NOTRE DAME. I guess naming one movie is like trying to eat one chip. I should’ve just said no.

4) What has been your favorite acting experience so far and why?
Blood Ties of course!

5) Are you happy with the job prospects in Canada or do you feel the urge to move to the US?
Prospecting in B.C. is very good.

6) What’s your dream job? It is being a cast member on a successful Television show, starring in a #1 blockbuster movie or headlining a Broadway Play?
The goodies behind all three doors sound pretty good to me.

About Blood Ties

1) Were you familiar with the Tanya Huff books prior to appearing on the show?
No.

2) What can you tell us about your character? What appealed to you about this character?
Without giving anything away, Dr. Hobman’s character appears to be equivocal.

3) What was the interviewing process like for Blood Ties? Were you asked to act out a scene from the episode or was this more of an open casting call?
You’re always given a particular scene or two and so on for a television part, usually the night before the audition. Short term memory is essential for acting, in more ways than one.

4) What was it like working on the set? How many days were you on the set?
I was on the set for approx 50 glorious hours during a three day span. The people from top to bottom - cast to crew were extremely courteous and professional. It’s a first rate organization. And the director, David Winning was what we call an actor’s director. A good thing.

5) Who is the first person you told that you got the role on Blood Ties?
My biggest fan…my mother.

6) How did you celebrate getting this role?
With a premium Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred, of course.

7) Is there a chance your character will return later?
Anything’s possible.

8) Is Blood Ties the kind of show that you would watch, beyond the episode that you guest starred in?
Absolutely.

9) What are your upcoming projects?
One sports lesson I’ve learned (a la Groundhog Day) is to never talk about it till it’s a done deal. J However, one project I can mention is embodied in a new website one of my acting class students built for me; Inneroscar.com.
