About Yourself

1) Many people believe that being an actor is a dream job, what's one thing about being an actress that you
wish you would have known before you entered this profession? Just how often do you actually get jobs!

That some years are much better than others.  Many people get a degree and then work at their job for the rest of their lives, actors and actresses spend the rest of their life at job interviews!

2) If you were not an actress, what would be your career and why?

I would be and I currently am a photographer!  I absolutely love photography I have done it since I was 15 years old.  I have explored so many possible options but I keep coming back to film, weather it is on screen or behind the camera.

3) What is a movie that you could watch again and again?
Moulin Rouge! I actually have Moulin Rouge days where I will watch the film 3 times in a row! (usually it is raining out) Any movie that can touch you emotionally again and again is a fantastic film I aspire to be that great!

4) What has been your favorite acting experience so far and why?
My favouritie acting experience thus far has been in the last play I produced and performed in, in December 2006 called "THE BIG FUNK" by John Patrick Shanley the role of Jill.  I had a scene in a bath tub on stage filled with water and had my hair washed in front of a live audience.  The charachter was very raw and beautiful and I had quite the time delving into her!

5) Are you happy with the job prospects in Canada or do you feel the urge to move to the US?

I am quite happy with the jobs and prospects in Canada! I would love to land a fantastic series here in Vancouver and live happily ever after making movies!  I have already lived in Los Angeles for a series called "That Was Then" in 2003, where I received my working papers etc, and got to know LA quite well!  I have definitly grown to love LA but Vancouver will always be MY HOME.

6) You have appeared in many great television shows like Tru Calling, The 4400 and The Outer Limits, do
you ultimately want to star in your own series or do you enjoy doing a variety of projects (guest star on
shows, movies and theatrical work)?

I would love to be on a series right now! Nothing I desire more than a steady job doing something I love!  I am the type of person that has to be busy at all times so I am constantly creating work for myself on my off hours!

About Blood Ties

1) Were you familiar with the Tanya Huff books prior to appearing on the show?
No I wasn't but I do have a few friends that are big comic book buffs so I have heard bits and pieces through them.

2) What can you tell us about your character? What appealed to you about this character?

This particular character Alyssa is dealing with the grief of losing her brother, her family has special powers that allow them to transform into jaguars and cheetahs, and they become hunted by someone who kills them for game.  I am always attracted to charcters dealing with grief because I have lived through it myself so many times.

3) What was the interviewing process like for Blood Ties? Was this an open casting call? Did you get many
call backs?

There was an audition for this role and I got a call from my agent for it when I arrived there were numerous brunettes.  I knew right then and there I had a 1 in 8 chance! One audition and booked the job!

4) What was it like working on the set? How many days were you on the set? Was the set a serious formal
atmosphere or more causal?

I found the Blood Ties set a very calm and relaxing set to be on!  The director Andy Mikita was fantastic and great to work with.  The day I was there was also the day they were working with the live Jaguar so that made for some interesting moments.

5) Who is the first person you told that you got the role on Blood Ties?

Umm that is a good question?  Not sure maybe my boyfriend?

6) How did you celebrate getting this role?
A great big good job to me!

7) Is there a chance your character will return later?
Never know??

8) Is Blood Ties the kind of show that you would watch, beyond the episode that you guest starred in?
Yes, I love to see all my local actor friends strutting there stuff!

9) What are your upcoming projects?
I starred in another campy horror film called "INSECTICIDAL" that received some recognition at festivals and was written up in Femme Fatal Magazine last year! I just completed my first short film called "SILK" that I wrote, directed and produced and I am going to hit the festival circuit with it!
