LIVING Takes Fireworks Thriller
LONDON, March 1: LIVING has acquired the new 22x1-hour supernatural crime
thriller Blood Ties from Fireworks International for launch in the U.K. this
summer.
Blood Ties is set to launch on Lifetime in the U.S. this month and is
expected to debut on CHUM in Canada a few weeks later. Produced by Toronto's
Kaleidoscope Entertainment and Vancouver's Insight Film Studios in
association with CHUM Television, Blood Ties follows the misadventures of
Vicki Nelson-played by Christina Cox-a determined 29-year old ex-cop turned
private investigator with a degenerative eye disorder. After witnessing a
horrific murder, she finds herself caught up with a 450-year-old vampire and
bastard son of King Henry VIII, named Henry Fitzroy, played by Kyle Schmid,
who is also investigating the murder. Vicki's professional relationship with
Henry draws her into more intriguing cases that involve a pantheon of occult
adversaries, with their unlikely alliance soon progressing beyond a
professional arrangement. This creates a love triangle dilemma for Vicki
alongside her relationship with her ex-partner, Detective Mike Celluci,
played by Dylan Neal. Award-winning producer and writer Peter Mohan created
the series.
Amy Barham, the head of acquisitions at LIVING, LIVING2 and ftn, noted:"Blood Ties' hugely compelling paranormal storylines, as well as its sexy
young cast, will offer LIVING viewers a real treat this summer."
