Two bumbling thieves manage to unleash a centuries old Incan Mummy who begins to wreak havoc on the city. Killing the first thief and enslaving the other, he uses his pawn to kill more people as he tries to find Henry, a veritable all you can drain buffet.
You see, Henry has been having nightmares, or day mares in his case. At the beginning Henry believes it might be his soul’s way of saying it’s time to die but Vicki believes and ultimately proves the Incan Mummy is fixated on Henry’s life force and using the dreams to draw him out.
While Mike and Kate are investigating the murders caused by the Mummy as he seeks to gain enough strength to kill Henry, Mike destroys evidence that could lead to embarrassing questions about the nature of the case. His actions cause him to re-think his involvement with Vicki’s strange cases and he begins to pull away from Vicki’s world.
As Coreen and Vicki look for a way to save Henry’s life they find a spell in a book of black magic. Coreen is hesitant to use the spell but Vicki will use anything at her disposal to save Henry and decides to go ahead with the spell.
Vicki tells Henry that he can find the Mummy by using his day mares to his advantage. Henry takes her advice and manages to find the Mummy before the Mummy finds him. He gives the address to Vicki in case he is not successful in killing him but Vicki, concerned that Henry is walking into his death, prevents him from leaving the penthouse by using his sword to stab him in the stomach.
She takes some of Henry’s blood and uses the black magic spell to poison her life force and kill the Mummy for good. Her actions, however, cause a rift between her and Henry, who despises her use of black magic in order to save his life.
Henry can not forgive Vicki for her actions and distances himself from her as well, leaving her more vulnerable and alone than ever before.
